You don’t have to overthink at all

Here are a few scriptures to combat the urge to overthink everything
all of the time.

  • God works all things together for your good.
    • Romans 8:28 KJV
    • And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
  • The word of God renews your mind.
    • Romans 12:2 NKJV
    • And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  • You can make plans or goals but God decides how they manifest.
    • Proverbs 16:33 NLT
    • We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.
  • God places in you that which is pleasing to Him.
    • Philippians 2:13 NLT
    • For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

“You can make plans or goals but God decides how they manifest.”

Solid points. This one stood out to me yesterday. I not only support the words, I’m a “client” of the words. One day,I’ll tell you a few of my stories in which my “plans” and “goals” were altered. Some advanced while others were postponed.

    1. So you were still able to see your end goals or did you decide not to pursue some? Are you still hoping for those that haven’t happened yet to manifest?

I typed a more detailed response but it didn’t go thru.

Simplified version is that I see the end goals and I continue to pursue them on my terms. I had early opportunities in filmmaking that I didn’t take because it came very unexpectedly. It came so easily that I thought my opportunity would arise to shoot a Hollywood feature film again. It didn’t come that way. Plus, that particular offer was problematic after I turned it down. The director died. The project was kicked off of a college campus. Project was delayed for years.

It still took me a decade to make the business decisions necessary for me to begin to think as an indie filmmaker rather than waiting in Hollywood to find my projects.

Very complicated years which probably need my audio recordings and diagrams for someone reading this to make sense of it.

    1. I totally understand. Sometimes you have to simply be still. No matter how uncomfortable it may be. God bless you as well! Thank you for sharing!
